Granger Smith's Son Passes After Tragic Accident

Granger Smith Visits Music Choice

Our hearts go out to Granger Smith, his wife Amber as they grieve the loss of their youngest child.

Granger and Amber shared the news on Twitter and Instagram on Thursday saying that their 3-year-old son River Kelly died following a tragic accident that left doctors (despite their best efforts) to revive him. It has been confirmed by Granger's rep that River's death was due to a drowning accident at their home.

“Amber and I made the decision to say our last goodbyes and donate his organs so that other children will be given a second chance at life. Our family is devastated and heartbroken, but we take solace in knowing he is with his Heavenly Father.”

Granger and Amber have two other children. Son Lincoln Monarch is five years-old. Their daughter London is seven.

In lieu of flowers or gifts, the couple requests that those willing to give please send donations to Dell Children's Medical Center in River’s name.

"The doctors, nurses and staff have been incredible.”

River's memorial is set to happen on Tuesday.

Several of Granger’s fellow country stars reached out to him upon hearing the news.

“I’m here for you if you need anything at all bro just hit me up,”Kane Brown commented, while Jason Aldean added, “I cant imagine what y’all are going thru. Praying for u and ur family brother. We are heartbroken for u guys,” and Luke Bryan commented, “Many prayers. So sorry.”
