Where to recycle your Christmas Trees and how to take it down mess free!

Wondering what to do with that live Christmas tree now? There are many drop-off locations in Georgia. Most are recycling the trees to help beautify your community. For a detailed list check out pickyourowntree.com

Below are a few locations in our area but first! Here's how to take down that live tree mess-free according to Martha Stewart!

You will need a large bedsheet. Start by taking off all the ornaments, lights, and baubles you’ve adorned your Christmas tree with and set them safely aside.

  • Then, lay the sheet on the floor next to the tree and take it out of the tree stand.
  • Wrap the trunk in a towel to soak up extra water.
  • Lay the tree on its side on the sheet and wrap it up, making sure all branches are covered.
  • Take it out of the house trunk-first, that way the branches don’t catch on the door frame and break off.
  • And hopefully, this helps you avoid the mess of a bazillion stray needles scattered on the floor in a trail out the door.
