Alex Trebec Confirms He's Leaving the Show

Alex Trebec has confirmed that after his Jeopardy! contract expires in 2016, he will not be renewing it.

He said, "I'm not going to go on forever....There is a time for all things and my time may be coming."

Trebek has been hosting Jeopardy! since 1984.

Matt Lauer and Anderson Cooper have both been rumored to be next in line for the hosting gig.

Britney Spears is headed to Las Vegas as a headliner this fall and already looks ready to squeeze into the skimpiest of costumes.

"Britney at her best! 31, firm & fabulous," reads the cover of Shape magazine featuring a slimmed-down Brit in a tiny white Deja Soleil Swimwear bikini.

"She's so inspiring to be in that great of shape after having two kids," says Deja Berkham, designer and owner of the line. "All Deja Soleil suits are designed to play up a woman's delicate curves and still be durable enough for the most active of women – much like Britney."

Watch out, Jessica Biel: The moms of America have spoken, and they have their hearts set on Justin Timberlake!

A recent study conducted by ShareMyPlaylists.com, which polled over 2,000 mothers aged 30 and up about the musicians they have the hots for, revealed that ladies love the "Suit & Tie" singer the most.

A whopping 62% of mothers polled said that JT was attractive, with soulful singer Michael Bublé coming in at the No. 2 spot.

 Finishing up the top five were some more classic choices in Bruce Springsteen, Sting and "Wicked Games" singer Chris Isaak.

So who was the most shocking name on the list?

One Direction lead singer (and 19-year-old) Harry Styles—who landed the No. 8 spot on the list.

Etta Lopez Tries To Quit Smoking By Going To Jail

A Sacramento woman came up with a pretty unique way of forcing herself to stop smoking.

31-year-old Etta Lopez deliberately got in the face of Sacramento County Deputy Matt Campoy as he was leaving the county jail and slapped him. Lopez was immediately arrested. After she was in cuffs, Lopez admitted that she had an ulterior motive for causing the confrontation.

“All of a sudden, she stepped into me and slapped me in the face,” Campoy said. “She told us that she needed to quit smoking.”

Apparently Lopez had been sitting outside of the county jail for hours waiting to attack an officer. “She explained it with great detail as to why,” Campoy said.

Facilities in the state of California are supposed to be smoke-free. Lopez realized that if she was locked up in one, she wouldn’t be able to smoke. Inmates are encouraged to quit while incarcerated and given help with kits containing gum and straws that they can chew on, The Inquisitr reported.

Needless to say, this is not the method that most health professionals would recommend for people who want to get rid for their nicotine habits.

How much will you spend on Mom this year? The National Retail Federation reports that consumers will spend an average of $168.94 on Mom for Mother's Day this year. That's an all-time high and up 11-percent from last year. The average includes restaurant meals and gifts for one's mother, mother-in-law, wife, etc. The NRF predicts that electronics will be a popular option of gift this year, estimating that Americans will spend 2.3-billion-dollars on various devices for mom. Atlanta has been named the "Most Redneck City" in the country by Movoto Blog. 

To determine the "Most Redneck City," the blog used these eight criteria:

• Percent of population that didn't complete high school
• Number of gun and ammo stores per capita
• Number of taxidermists per capita
• Number of cowboy boot stores per capita
• Number of country radio stations per capita
• Number of NASCAR racetracks close by
• Number of Walmarts per capita
• Number of riding lawn mower/tractor repair shops per capita

The blog looked at each of the criteria, averaged their rank, and came up with each city's final score.

Surfer, shark attack survivor Bethany Hamilton gets engaged

Bethany Hamilton, whose story of perseverance after losing an arm to a shark attack inspired the 2011 movie “Soul Surfer,” announced her engagement on Wednesday.

Hamilton, 23, will tie the knot with her boyfriend of one year, Christian youth minister Adam Dirks. The professional surfer wrote on her blog that the two met at the beach on “somewhat of a blind date” last spring, and that the first thing they did was jump off a cliff together. "You could say it was love at first cliff jump," wrote Hamilton.

Dirks popped the question on April 9, to which Hamilton replied with an enthusiastic "yes".

“I know Adam and I are right for each other and that God has us together for Him," Hamilton wrote on her blog. "Neither of us is perfect, but in my eyes Adam is just right and I'm thankful to have someone so perfectly perfect to share life with as one."

“Every time she says, ‘I love you,’ I can’t help but smile and skip a few heart beats,’’ Adam wrote in a guest post on her blog. “To feel the love of someone who genuinely loves me for who I am and am becoming, is indescribable.”

Hamilton was 13 years old when her left arm was severed in an attack by a tiger shark when she was surfing in the North Shore in Kauai, Hawaii. One year later, she was back to competing in surfing competitions and turned professional in 2007.

"I'm so thankful for [Adam] and look forward to living life together," wrote Hamilton. "Adam, I love you and I'm here to stay!"

Kristen Stewart Named 'Least Trusted Movie Star'

According to a “100 Most Trusted People in America” nationwide poll conducted by Reader’s Digest, Kristen Stewart is the least trusted movie star in America.

Reader’s Digest compiled a list of more than 200 American opinion shapers, leaders and headline makers from 15 highly influential professions and presented it to more than 1,000 Americans (a representative sample of adults living in the United States), asking them to rank each name on how trustworthy they thought each individual was. Trustworthiness was determined by “integrity and character, exceptional talent, drive to personal excellence, internal moral compass, message, honesty and leadership.”

According to their results, Stewart received the lowest trust score (24%) amongst all of the movie stars who made the list, despite her status as one of the highest-paid stars in Hollywood.

And who’s the least trusted male star who made the list?

Tom Cruise, who scored just 27 percent.

Not surprisingly, popular celebs Tom Hanks and Sandra Bullock received the highest scores (65% and 63% respectively), with Denzel Washington and Meryl Streep not trailing far behind (62% and 61%).

Mariah Carey, Beyonce, J. Lo Among 'Most Powerful Moms of 2013'

They're glamorous, multi-talented, beautiful, powerful women who are adored by millions, but Mariah Carey, Beyonce, Jennifer Lopez and Gwen Stefani have something else in common: they're all moms.  In fact, they've just made Working Mother magazine's list of the 50 Most Powerful Moms of 2013.

Beyonce is ranked #5 on the magazine's list.  The mother of one-year-old Blue Ivy is "arguably the hardest-working mom in show biz," writes the magazine, and details everything that Bey has done since giving birth: singing for the president, performing at the Super Bowl, releasing a documentary, kicking off a world tour and signing a $50 million endorsement deal with Pepsi.  The magazine also refers to Beyonce as releasing "a new album, Mrs. Carter," but so far that hasn't happened.  Oops.

 In at #10 is Mariah, the mother of two-year-old twins Monroe and Moroccan, or as her fans know them, "dem babies."  The magazine praises Mariah for her burgeoning fragrance empire, as well as for her incredible record sales and her reported $18 million paycheck for American Idol.

 Ex-American Idol judge J-Lo is #31 on the list.  The mother of five-year-old twins Max and Emme is praised for being a singer, actress, dancer, producer and fashion mogul, as well as for her charity work to bring greater medical access to mothers in the developing world.

 Gwen is included on the list at #48.  Mother to 6-year-old Kingston and 4-year-old Zuma, Gwen balances taking care of her kids with her jobs as frontwoman of No Doubt, solo artist and fashion designer and mogul.  The magazine notes that last year, Gwen told Vogue, "I am a mother.  And if you don’t do it right, there are serious consequences.”

Woman, 105, says bacon is the secret to a long, happy life

Pearl Cantrell, a 105-year-old resident of Richland Springs, Texas, filled local TV station KRBC in on the secret to a long, happy life: bacon. "I love bacon. I could eat it for every meal, and I do!" she said, and encouraged others to do the same. Somehow, Oscar Mayer got a whiff of Cantrell's evangelical fervor for fried pork and sent over some chipper young employees to give Cantrell a ride — "shotbun," the local station said — in its Wienermobile. The generous employees also gave Cantrell a large supply of bacon. "I will never, ever forget this, for the rest of my life," Cantrell later said, tucking into a plate of bacon. We truly believe her.

Second Grade Teacher Allegedly Taped Students' Mouths Shut

Sure, kids can be a handful sometimes, but a second grade teacher in Colorado may have taken things too far when she allegedly taped the mouths of 28 students shut because they were being noisy.

According to the teacher, she jokingly taped the students’ mouths to keep them quiet in the library at the Fulton Academy of Excellence in Aurora. She also claimed that students asked her to use the tape. Police interviewed the teacher after the incident and decided that, in fact, no crime had been committed.

Some parents, however, disagree. “My daughter’s been in the house crying, begging me not to send her back to school,” said mom Tenisha Bynes. “She said that she’ll do good in home school and she promises. She doesn’t want to go back to a public school.”

One unidentified student described the punishment as painful. “When she put it on, it was like, okay, and then, like, it started to hurt my mouth,” said the student. “It’s also hard for me to breathe with the tape, too.”

The teacher has been placed on administrative leave and the school district is in the process of conducting their own investigation. “We do not condone any inappropriate adult conduct toward students, and we cooperate fully with the police,” said spokeswoman Paula Hans.

NO 'MISS AMERICA' SONG AT THIS YEAR'S PAGEANT

The iconic "There she is, Miss America... " song won't be sung when the winner is crowned at this year's pageant in September due to a licensing dispute, The Press of Atlantic City reported Wednesday (May 8th). The dispute stems from a lawsuit filed by the late songwriter Bernie Wayne's wife, who claims the song was used without a proper license in 2011 and 2012. The song was played at the pageant almost every year since 1955, other than a few years in the 1980s during another contract dispute, and last year, when instrumental music was played after the crowning. Wayne first wrote the song in 1955, and longtime host Bert Parks sang it during the pageant's broadcast that year for winner Lee Meriwether.

Britney Spears Eyeing November Start Date for Vegas Residency

Britney Spears still hasn't officially announced her forthcoming residency in Las Vegas, but it appears as though a start date may be on the horizon.

The Las Vegas Sun's Robin Leach reports that the construction on the theater at Planet Hollywood -- where Britney is set to perform -- is almost done, and right now she and her team are eying a November start date.

According to Leach, full details of Britney's show -- including the director's name, the initial concert dates and ticket sales information -- will be unveiled in about 20 days.  Preliminary rehearsals and casting would start in L.A. in late September or early October, and the technical set-up in the theater -- lights, sound and so forth -- would begin this summer.

Leach warns, however, that the November "start date" he's been told about could actually be the start of dress rehearsals, and not the actual kickoff of the residency.  Either way, we should known more by the end of the month.

Britney is also working on a new album, which is being executive-produced by will.i.am, her duet partner on "Scream and Shout."  There's no word on when we can expect that new music.

UPDATE: Honey Boo Boo Wedding: Mama June & Sugar Bear Did Not Get Legally Married

There was cake, there was an outrageous wedding dress and there were vows—but there wasn't a marriage license.

E! News confirms that Here Comes Honey Boo Boo stars Mama June and Sugar Bear's wedding ceremony, held yesterday in their Georgia backyard, was just to reaffirm their love for one another, and was not legally recorded.

"it was just a commitment ceremony," a source exclusively tells E! News.

However, not signing any papers was not a big deal for the couple and parents of four, who were more than pleased with just sharing that intimate moment with 180 of their loved ones.

"It had all of the fanfare and it was nice," the source added. "They were very happy. They had all their family. It was like regular wedding ceremony."

Mama June told People magazine, "The day was very special mostly because my girls were able to take part in it. I felt like it was important for them to see this moment and celebrate my love for Sugar Bear."

Fans can witness the joyous occasion during the new season of Here Comes Honey Boo Boo, which premieres on TLC July 17.
